Free online video tools
Trim, split, compress and convert videos in your browser without uploading them. Choose the operation and check the result before sharing it.
Choose by what you want to do with the video
Decide whether you need to keep part of the video, change its size or format, or simply look at its data. Some operations copy the tracks untouched while others re-encode them, with some loss of quality.
A video file is a container (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV) holding picture and sound tracks encoded with a codec. Changing the container can be done by copying the tracks as they are, without loss; changing the resolution, size or rotation requires decoding and re-encoding every frame. Knowing which case you are in explains why one tool finishes in seconds and another takes minutes, and why only some lose quality.
Everything is processed on your device using your browser’s video features, so the file is never uploaded to a server. In exchange, speed depends on your computer and the limit is 500 MB per file. Choose MP4 when you want compatibility, always keep the original and check the full result in the player where you will use it.
Break up a long recording
Creates several equal or fixed-length parts in a ZIP.
Split video into parts →Keep the original and play the whole result before publishing it. Re-encoding always loses some quality; removing audio and changing container usually avoid it.
