Blur or hide part of a video: uses and practical guidance
Cover a rectangular area that stays fixed for the whole video: blurred, pixelated or covered with black. Position and size are percentages of the frame measured from the top-left corner, for example 35 %, 35 % and 30 % × 30 %. Strength sets how coarse the blur or pixelation is. The area does not follow moving subjects, so check the whole video; the tool does not detect faces or text. Blur and pixelation reduce detail but may not hide small text or a recognizable shape: for license plates, passwords or documents choose black. The video is re-encoded and the sound is kept, so voices can still identify people.
Blur or hide part of a video. The video is opened and processed in your device’s memory and is never sent to a server, so speed depends on your computer and the file size. Copying tracks without re-encoding is almost instant; re-encoding can take several minutes for long or high-resolution videos. While it works, the page shows progress and a cancel button. Keep the tab open and visible until it finishes, because some browsers slow down background tabs. The 500 MB limit protects device memory. If the file is larger, split it into parts first. The original is never modified: the tool creates a new file that you download.
Blur or hide part of a video. Play the complete result before using it: check that picture and sound stay in sync, that no seconds are missing at the start or end, and that quality is sufficient for your purpose. Open the file in another player or in the application where you will publish it, because every platform has its own limits for duration, size and format. If the result does not play, try MP4, the most compatible format. Always keep the original video until you have verified the new one, and do not overwrite the source file. If the video contains personal data, remember that this tool does not hide faces or voices: it only changes the file.

Frequently asked questions
Is it free, and do I need to sign up?
Yes, it is free. You do not need to sign up, create an account or install an app, and there is no daily quota: open the tool and use it. The only limits are file sizes, which protect your device’s memory.
Does it leave a watermark on the result?
No. Snipshed adds no watermark, logo or text of its own to the files you download: the result is yours exactly as you configured it.
Is quality lost?
This operation re-encodes the video, so a small quality loss is possible. Keep the original and check the whole copy before using it.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, from your phone’s browser (Safari, Chrome…) and without installing any app. When it finishes, the file is saved from the browser itself: on iPhone it appears in the Files app and on Android in Downloads. With very large files the phone may run out of memory; try a smaller file or a computer. Video operations need a recent browser with WebCodecs, such as current versions of Safari and Chrome.
