Online date and measurement calculators
Calculate percentages, averages, proportions, dates and unit conversions. Identify bases, scales and result meaning before applying the output.
Choose the formula before entering values
Identify units and the calculation’s base. Numeric fields accept a comma or period as the decimal separator; avoid thousands separators so that 1,000 is not interpreted as 1.
Start by stating the question and assigning meaning to every input. A percentage portion differs from percentage change; an ordinary mean differs from a weighted one; calendar days differ from working days. A calculator can apply a formula correctly to data that do not represent the problem. Check units, inclusion conventions and comparison bases before interpreting the number. Preserve those assumptions with the output so another person can review what was actually calculated.
Numeric fields accept the representations stated by each tool. Avoid thousands separators that can be mistaken for decimals and convert incompatible scales before combining values. A mean needs comparable observations and a weight needs a definition. Rule of three requires valid proportionality rather than merely three available quantities. For dates, distinguish a calendar day from a timezone aware instant. Test a familiar simple example to detect swapped inputs and inspect signs and symbols when copying. Rounding affects presentation and should follow the final use. Establish special calendar or tolerance rules separately, since a mathematical operation cannot discover those conditions from the numbers alone. Understanding the model remains part of obtaining a useful answer.
Find a portion
Calculates a percentage of an amount. Subtract the calculated portion for a discounted price.
Percentage calculator →Compare two values
Uses the initial value as the base. Returning to the original price can require a different percentage from the discount.
Percentage change →Scale quantities
Choose direct when ratios stay constant and inverse when products stay constant. Check the problem’s conditions.
Rule of three calculator →Summarize a series
Compare mean and median. Separate numbers with spaces, newlines or semicolons.
Mean, median and sum →Date calculations count calendar days. Proportions need consistent units and a nonzero denominator. Displayed results may be rounded.
