How to use this tool

  1. Choose start and end dates and decide whether to include the end.
  2. Add holidays or closures in YYYY-MM-DD format, one per line.
  3. Calculate and inspect deductions before using the count.

An example you can verify

Count a week with one closure date supplied by you.

Example input

Start: 2026-10-12. End: 2026-10-18.
Excluded date: 2026-10-12

SettingsInclude end date. Saturday and Sunday are nonworking days.

Expected result

4 working days
7 calendar days
1 excluded weekday

Without the excluded date there are five Monday-to-Friday days. The example does not imply October 12 is a holiday in your location.

Working days calculator: uses and practical guidance

Counting working days requires defining which endpoints belong to the interval and which calendar applies. This tool treats Monday through Friday as working days and always excludes Saturday and Sunday. The start date is included. You can decide whether the end date is included too, distinguishing a plan covering both endpoints from an interval ending immediately before its final date. The operation does not find a future date from a required number of working days; it counts a range whose dates you have already selected and whose inclusion rule is visible in the form.

Additional dates represent holidays, closures or other days you want excluded. Supply one per line in YYYY-MM-DD format. No national, regional or municipal calendar is retrieved automatically. The worked example uses a closure provided by the user and does not imply that it is a universal holiday. Check which dates apply to your planning context before copying them. A repeated exclusion is deducted only once. A Saturday or Sunday is not deducted again because that date was already outside the working-day set. This avoids reducing the result twice for one nonworking date.

Exclusions outside the interval do not affect the result. When the interval option excludes the end date, that date is not deducted as an included holiday either. The summary shows calendar days considered, remaining working days and weekday exclusions deducted. These figures make the calculation easier to check step by step. A full Monday-to-Sunday week contains seven calendar days and five Monday-to-Friday days. Adding a Monday closure leaves four working days. If the only supplied closure falls on Saturday, five working days remain because the weekend was already excluded from the initial count.

Calendar dates are processed using UTC references so seasonal clock changes do not alter the day count. Hours, partial days and calendars with different weekends are not interpreted. The interval must run from the start date to an equal or later end date. When both endpoints are the same and the end is excluded, the interval contains zero days. Years from 0001 through 9999 and up to ten thousand exclusions are supported. The result helps review a supplied work calendar but does not determine specific legal, administrative or contractual deadline rules. Retain exclusions and endpoint settings with the total so another person can reproduce the calculation and assess whether the selected calendar matches the intended task.

Settings and limits

Choose two dates and enter holidays or closures as YYYY-MM-DD, one per line. Start date is included; end date can be included or excluded. Weekends are Saturday and Sunday. No official holiday calendar is loaded. Repeated holidays are counted once and weekend holidays are not deducted again.
