Add your PDFChoose reference pages, position and the number of blank pages to insert.

Use pages or ranges. Before page 1 inserts at the beginning; after the last page inserts at the end.

The blank page uses the size and orientation of its reference page.

An example you can verify

Add separators or space for notes between PDF sections.

Insert blank PDF pages: uses and practical guidance

Inserting blank PDF pages helps prepare documents whose sections must begin on a particular side when printed double sided. It can also create space for handwritten notes or separate blocks within a record. Insertion positions refer to the PDF file rather than printed numbering inside its content. Check whether the selected option places the new sheet before or after the page you identify in the form.

A blank sheet is still a real page. It contributes to the total and changes the positions of everything that follows it. If you subsequently extract ranges, separate odd and even pages or add numbering, work from the positions in the modified document. Inspect the added sheet’s size so that it matches your intended print layout. Adding a blank separator does not automatically change the scale or dimensions of the pages that were already present.

Open the downloaded file in a viewer with thumbnails and confirm the new gap’s location. For duplex printing, test the beginning of the following section to ensure that it falls on the intended side. Avoid inserting blanks solely to compensate for a reader display controlled by facing page settings. Delete PDF pages can remove an existing blank when it is unnecessary. Retain the original sequence as well, since the version intended only for reading on a screen may not need the same print separators.

A practical check before using the result

For a chaptered workbook, identify which section must begin on a right hand page and compare its position before and after insertion. Inspect facing pages and print a short trial when appropriate. A blank added at the end does not resolve an earlier parity problem. Record insertion positions so intentional separators can be distinguished from accidentally blank scans. That reference simplifies later removal when creating a version specifically for digital reading. Confirm that chapter starts, not simply the total number of blank pages, match the intended printed layout.

Settings and limits

Enter reference pages and insertion position. Each blank page matches its reference page size.

Up to 120 MB and 500 pages per document. Output copies also support up to 500 pages. Encrypted PDFs are unsupported. Check links, forms, annotations and signatures after editing a document. Available memory may require smaller batches.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a sheet at the beginning?

Select physical page 1 and choose Before. To add at the end, select the final page and choose After.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your file and result are processed locally in your browser. No account is needed.

Is it free, and do I need to sign up?

Yes, it is free. You do not need to sign up, create an account or install an app, and there is no daily quota: open the tool and use it. The only limits are file sizes, which protect your device’s memory.

Does it leave a watermark on the result?

No. Snipshed adds no watermark, logo or text of its own to the files you download: the result is yours exactly as you configured it.

Is quality lost?

No. Pages are copied as they are into the new PDF, without recompressing text, images or graphics, so quality is identical to the original.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, from your phone’s browser (Safari, Chrome…) and without installing any app. When it finishes, the file is saved from the browser itself: on iPhone it appears in the Files app and on Android in Downloads. With very large files the phone may run out of memory; try a smaller file or a computer.
